Dr. Katie An, DVM, MA, CVA

Dr. Katie An is the owner and medical director of Hope Veterinary Care (HVC). She was born in South Korea and spent most of her younger life there. She started and finished her early collegiate years at the school of veterinary medicine of Seoul National University.  After, she finished clinical training at Purdue University in Indiana and soon afterwards moved to California to continue her practice.  For more than 17 years, she has been trying to be on top of current medicine in veterinary field and her passion is extending to pain management, endocrinology, dermatology, as well as general well being.

Throughout her life, Dr. An always had pets, whether they be cats, dogs or birds. While taking care of them, she realized what true pet care meant. Since then, she has fulfilled her education in the veterinary field and strives to help the pets who brought her so much joy with compassion and sincerity.

Dr. An has a husband, who is also involved in the veterinary medicine as a veterinary surgeon and the co-owner of HVC. She also has two sons who are studying enthusiastically in their separate fields. Dr. An also has a dog named Lacey who receives the best care possible at home from her parent-veterinarians.

Dr. An will lead the HVC team to offer the best care possible for your pets and wants to continue to grow and provide service in this community of pet-lovers.

 


Dr. Jongmin Kim, DVM, PhD, DACVS-SA

Dr. Jongmin Kim received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Veterinary Medicine from Seoul National University in South Korea. He, then, came to United States to gain surgical education and completed PhD in veterinary clinical sciences at Purdue University and small aninaml surgery residency in Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency and Specialy Hosptial. In 2012, Dr. Kim became the first board-certified surgeon (Diplomate of American College of Veterinary Surgeons - Small Animal) from South Korea. He authored many publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been teaching and lecturing at universities and international meetings in Korea and Asia.

With his broad spectrum of skills, Dr. Kim has expertise in soft tissue surgery (thoracic surgery, abdominal surgery, reconstruction and cancer surgery), orthopedic procedures (joint surgery, fracture repair, TPLO) and minimally invasive surgeries. Like our team of skilled and compassionate professionals at Hope Veterinary Care, Dr. Kim is always focused on caring for each patient and ensuring their optimal recovery and well-being.

Dr. Kim, along with his wife, Dr. An, and their two sons are grateful to make Orange County home. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing golf and running outdoors.
